Since its inception, the WFFT Wildlife Rescue Centre has given shelter to 1000’s of wild animals. Many of these animals are rehabilitated and released back to the wild. Those that cannot be released are provided with shelter for the rest of their lives.
The Wildlife Rescue Centre is the perfect place for volunteering with animals. We require a team of dedicated volunteers throughout the year. With us, you will have the amazing opportunity to volunteer in Thailand, working with animals and helping us to care for a wide variety of rescued wildlife. The center always needs help from animal lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, whether in the form of volunteer work, donations or professional help such as veterinary experience.
October was a big month for new rescues. Our team is also very busy behind the scenes creating daily enrichment, building new enclosures for those who need them most, providing urgent veterinary care and working to secure the release of many more animals in need of sanctuary. Everything that we do for wildlife in Thailand is only possible because of the kindness of supporters like you.
We are therefore very pleased to share just a few of our October highlights with you, including:
- Newly rescued: A yellow-headed temple turtle, two slow lorises, an African Pygmy hedgehog, and an infant long-tailed macaque!
- Pin the elephant is enjoying her new hydrotherapy pool
- Released a rehabilitated slow loris back to the wild
- Baithong, one of the rescued Phuket Zoo tigers, had her first health check-up
