What a shocker! In the post caption, @abcnews explained, "In Brisbane, Australia, a koala named Peri embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime trip before being released safely into the wild." At the start of the video, you can see a snapshot of Peri catching a ride like any other commuter. This koala is hugging the pole like it was just another day. For human riders, it was anything but, and in the post caption, @abcnews agreed adding, "It was an ordinary bus ride – except for one furry passenger."

Nor was it a normal sight for viewers watching this video. Commenters had a blast talking about this unusual scene. Many made jokes like @imstillinnewyork who said, "Little guy wanted to ride the bus." And @eggprincesss added, "[He] just wanted to visit the city for a bit." This koala had some wanderlust for sure.

While some had a good laugh at the situation, others were tickled by Peri's bus riding stance. @baiellee kidded, "Safety first, holding onto the rail." Commenter @dheedood chimed in, "Look how politely he wait[s]." Peri is a regular bus riding pro.
As the clips moves on, the anchor who's speaking gave more details on Peri's situation post bus ride. This koala was taken to a veterinary hospital and was cleared as healthy. At the end of the video, you get to see Peri set free in the wild.
Are Koala Bears Friendly to Humans?
Koalas may look like cuddly teddy bears, but you should be very careful if you should ever encounter one because you don't know how they'll react. The International Fund for Animal Welfare's website warns, "Koalas are wild animals that can become aggressive. Koalas have sharp claws and teeth. They can easily cause injury to a human if they feel threatened or stressed and lash out."
Luckily, Peri seemed calm in the video, so the bus driver was able to help him. I'm sure we all wish Peri the best and hope that he enjoyed his trip to the city!
