Animal Heroes Foundation Netherlands are rescuing hundreds of pets abandoned by fleeing families in Lebanon ( video )

Since the outbreak of the war in Lebanon, countless pets have been abandoned by fleeing families. Many animals are trapped in abandoned homes — often without food or water.

Our local partner, Give Me a Paw, has received 379 reports of trapped animals.

Rescue teams have already  been able to free 93 animals  and distribute more than 1,700 kilos of food in the affected areas. But hundreds of animals remain trapped. For them, it is literally a race against time.

We have been supporting animals in Lebanon since the outbreak of the war in October 2023. Together with local partners and our fantastic donors, we have already helped thousands of animals with food and medical care. But the misery just doesn't end.

The name says it all, Animal Heroes is about animal heroes, people who care for animals in need in the harshest of circumstances. Often these people are invisible to the world. They devote themselves at risk to injured, traumatized and neglected animals. All the while they can often barely make ends meet themselves.

Animal Heroes exists to make animal heroes visible and to help them with concrete emergency aid – together with you.

How does Animal Heroes work?

First, we don't have donors, we have fans! It may sound a bit strange, but we not only focus on the animal heroes and their animals, but also you as a fan!

We dare to come out honestly for that, because we think it is important to let you as a fan know how your donation helps animals. We have built a very smart system for this.
