Happiness is a Full Bowl of Food
Dear Friends,
In just a few days, we begin delivering 71,000+ meals to street feeding volunteers and underdog animal rescue squads for the month of November. However, we have a shortage of funds that would
keep 850 dogs from receiving food.
With deepest gratitude, Laura Simpson Harmony Fund Founder Mountaintop Rescuer in Croatia Needs Food Four years ago, Tinka was living by the sea in Croatia where she had a good job and lots of friends. But she missed her hometown in Bosnia, and when she came back to visit, she began awakening to the plight of the animals around her. Tinka started rescuing badly injured and neglected dogs and cats in the community.
In the snow and cold, she found dogs with no shelter at all who were simply surviving on tiny scraps of bread. She took them home, warmed them, gave them a good meal and shelter from the cold. Before long, with the help of her father, she turned a pile of lumber into an extraordinary mountaintop refuge where the dogs live peacefully.
Today Tinka struggles with the personal sacrifice that goes along with being a rescuer, but she believes she was guided to this mission. “I have a few angels who I never saw in my life, but they are here for me,” Tinka said. “ Thank you. Your donation is huge to us.” When we promised Tinka that we will help her again she responded by saying, "It is wonderful what love can do. There are no boundaries and no unknown." Bosnian Heroes Transform Lives With Food Though the numbers of animals we feed each month is quite massive, sometimes it's easiest to see the power of our international mission by looking at just a one. The 'before' and 'after' photos below, show the transformation of a single Bosnian dog under the care of rescue Caki Bravo who relies on Harmony Fund to sponsor his rescued dogs on a monthly basis.

Food Sustains Them While Waiting for Rescue
"Dougal was rescued from a landfill on a mountain above Sarajevo," Edina explains with a broad smile for this lovely dog Dougal.
Before
"For almost a year he has been waiting to leave Bosnia, but no luck fiding him an adopter," Edina said.
After
"He is a wonderful dog, around 3 years old, neutered and he is great with other dogs," Edina continues. "It is so hard for me to even imagine that he has to spend another winter in pension (boarding facility). Who knows, maybe this post will help him find his family that he has been waiting for." Potential adopters may inquire with Edina directly of Facebook. More Than Just Food in Romania ... We Saved These Dogs From Freezing! A week ago we put out a distress call to our Facebook fans to ask for help in providing winter shelter materials for the dogs at the Targu Neamt public pound in Romania. "It's not ideal of course, but without us they will literally freeze to death in this Romanian pound," Debbie continues. Talks with the mayor continue on Monday to hopefully secure a number of reforms at this pound. Macedonian Rescue Center Needs Food "At this moment we have 147 animals in our care. But we only have 350 euros ($411 dollars) on our account and a vet bill of 3,000 euros to pay. We use 1.7 ton food a month and we only have food for the next two weeks left. I am literally begging for help." "Thank you sooo much from the bottom of my heart," Magdalena Gjovjieva of Macedonia said. "I can't explain what this help means to all of us." We at Harmony Fund are deeply grateful for all donations and hope you will consider enrolling in our monthly giving program which allows us to provide food for animals in need all year long. Tractor Will Help Shelter Team Reach Dogs & Cats in Ukraine During Winter “The tractor we want to buy is 1983 year,” Marina explains. “It’s Russian and very good for such a roads. It can drive in mud and clear snow in winter.” “Those people now have a roof, food and clothing. In return, they work at the shelter and help care for the dogs.” The tractor needs a few repairs but it arrived on site at the shelter just moments ago. "Thank you millions!" Marina wrote. "My team can not believe we finally have a tractor." Because Dogs Can't Eat Their Sweaters ... This refuge in Romania just received funds from us to stay current with the rent and to buy their first lot of fire wood. These dogs are warmer while wearing donated sweaters, but its FOOD, always FOOD, that is at the top of the wish list. At Harmony Fund, we throw a lifeline to underdog animal rescue centers all over the planet. We are almost always their final hope. We take that responsibility quite seriously as we know that when we say "no" to a request for help with food, most often the animals simply don't get anything to eat at all. Thank You All for Feeding the Animals
Freedom from hunger is one of the fundamental principals of animal welfare. We hope you realize just how tremendously impactful your donations to our food drive are.
This street cat in Turkey is one of 350 who will receive a meal in Avsallar today because of all of you who care. Our team travel to the cats by bike and on foot to make sure that they have food and water. There's also an ongoing volunteer effort to spay/neuter the cats. It's not easy work, particularly with the extremes in weather in this regionm but one look at this face says it all. Thank you all for standing by us. We're now in our eight year of animal rescue and the work has grown beyond our wildest dreams! We are immensely grateful to all of you who donate to keep these animals from being hungry. We need you. "Thank you again, for your heart for the animals in Bulgaria. And you must know, you are in our hearts forever. Because not you, not I, saved the lives of these animals."
Thank you!
