India is a top country for its diversity of bird species, with hundreds of different species migrating through during the spring and fall months. This beautiful black kite was treated and released by one of our 24/7 wildlife rescue teams.

 

Black kites are a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, which also includes many other diurnal raptors like hawks and eagles. They're a common site in India and often can be seen in the dozens soaring on warm thermal currents.
