Your weekly donkey update from Safe Haven for Donkeys

Dear Friends,

Safe Haven’s sanctuary is in the village of Gan Yoshiyya in Israel, about 23 miles (37km) north east of Tel Aviv and 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the border with the Palestinian Territories (West Bank).

We also work in the West Bank itself – as well as our three mobile clinics which visit towns and villages across the West Bank, we have a permanent clinic in the city of Nablus.

Working with a trusted partner organisation, we now have a mobile clinic in the El Saf region of Egypt, visiting around 120 of the brick kilns in the area and bringing relief from pain and suffering to the thousands of donkeys which toil in the heat carrying heavy loads of bricks. Find out more about this new project here

Thank you so much.

With warmest wishes,
Wendy, Safe Haven UK Office

News from our Sanctuary

The donkeys have loved being out in the paddock at the Sanctuary, enjoying the warmer weather. Unfortunately the sunshine also means more flies - so you'll notice some of our donkeys are wearing 'trousers' to protect their legs from fly bites!

Maria is wearing 'trousers' to protect her legs from itchy fly bites.
Sometimes you need a friend to help reach an itch!
Thanks to your support, our donkeys receive regular dental check ups to keep their teeth in tip top condition.
Fluffca shows off his lovely teeth.
Thanks to you our rescue donkeys at the Sanctuary are living out their days with nutritious food, veterinary care, and lots of friends.
Many of our donkeys have companions they bond with.
The donkeys love to take a dust bath when the ground is dry. Here you can see David after his 'bath'.
David is fresh from his dust bath.

Thank you ♥️♥️

It's only with your help we are able to improve the lives of working donkeys, mules and horses in the West Bank, Gaza and Egypt. You're also helping to fund our hospital in Nablus in the West Bank and care for our rescue donkeys in Arrana, as well as our donkeys at our sanctuary in Israel.
